More about this course

This course is free of charge and students will receive all necessary course materials on the first day of the course. Students under 18 years of age must have written consent from a parent or legal guardian to participate. Parents and Guardians are invited and encouraged to attend during the class sessions.

Who needs to complete a Basic Hunter Education course?

By state law, anyone 18 years of age or older who wants to purchase their first-ever hunting license, must complete a Basic Hunter Education course (from any jurisdiction).

Minors (12-17 years of age) follow special regulations. While minors are not required to complete a Basic Hunter Education to purchase a minors's hunting license (there is another option), it is a prerequisite to participate in certain youth programs. Learn more at Mass.gov/YouthHunters
