Recycling at the Transfer Station

We received a letter from Valley Rolloff Dumpster Service today that puts the Town of Tyringham on Notice.

Recently, when Valley Rolloff has emptied our paper and bottles and can recycling containers they have found garbage and numerous dog feces bags.  This is unacceptable. 

From this point forward, any recycling containers found to have anything other than the designated recyclables inside will be emptied as trash, and charged out at the trash rate! 

We are asking all residents who use our Transfer Station to be certain that only the designated recyclables are placed in our recyclable’s containers. 

If we are charged the trash rate for our recyclables we will see a significant increase in the costs to operate our transfer station.  This increased cost could potentially drive up the cost of the annual permit.
