Broadband Update August 2017

Jim Consolati, Chair of the Select Board has provided an update for where we stand with the Broadband here in Tyringham. He is pleased to announce that the licensing process is underway. The Department of Telecommunications and Cable granted our request for a waiver of the 60-day notice requirement and Charter is working on its formal proposal. The proposal/application may be here as early as this week. As soon as it arrives, we will review it and schedule a public hearing, which requires a 15-day notice prior to holding the hearing. After that, Tyringham can issue the license and Charter can apply for the pole licenses. Strand mapping is a requirement for the application process and since we already did that, things should move pretty quickly. We will continue to keep everyone updated as we continue to make progress.
