The Appalachian Trail Conservancy is a volunteer-based, private nonprofit organization dedicated to the conservation of the 2,175 mile Appalachian National Scenic Trail, a 250,000-acre greenwayextending from Maine to Georgia. Our mission is to ensure that future generations will enjoy the clean air and water, scenic vistas, wildlife and opportunities for simple recreation and renewal alongthe entire trail corridor.
The trail that goes through Tyringham offers wonderful vista views. A section combines with the Cobble trail. The trail also brings hikers to Goose Pond. The Tyringham Community Post Office is a common stop for hikers to pick up packages of goodies and letters sent by loved ones. Please note the Tyringham Community Post Office window is ONLY open from 9am - 12:30 pm and 4 pm - 5:30 pm Monday - Friday. Saturday 9 am - 12:30. If you are planning to pick up a package be advised there is limited window service!
