Round Mountain and its neighbor, Long Mountain, form the backdrop for the McLennan Reservation, nearly 500 acres of forested hills and wetlands that compromise the southeastern end of Tyringham Valley.In the saddle between these
1,500- foot elevations lies Hale Swamp, created when Camp Brook was dammed by beavers long ago. From the entrance, a 1.5 mile trail follows the graceful rises and dipsof this densely forested landscape before reaching the high plateau where Hale Swamp is located.
Seasonal Hunting is permitted. Dogs must be kept on a leash. Moderate Hiking strenuous in places.
How to get There - From Tyringham Center, take Tyringham Main Road south for 2 miles, Turn left onto Fenn Rd. ( dirt Road) Park along the road side and walk up Fenn Road one half mile to entrance.
